Revelstoke Dam

The Revelstoke Dam is not the first thing that comes up to your mind when travelling through Canada, but you can’t hardly avoid it when you’re driving the Trans-Canada Highway in British Columbia. It only takes a small detour, a few miles up north from the town of Revelstoke. The visitor centre is quite interesting, and for photographers there’s plenty of opportunity. An interesting mix of industrial landscapes set in a beautiful natural environment, the pictures remind me sometimes of movie set pieces, straight from a film like Ridley Scott’s Alien. Grim concrete structures, huge pipe systems, almost surreal.
